The Fire We Wanted to Wear — The Story Behind the Ace Flame Ring

It started with a simple thought:

What if we could wear Ace’s fire?

Not a printed logo.
Not a character portrait.
Not another piece of anime merchandise.

Just the fire.

The kind of fire that immediately makes you think of Ace.

That idea stayed with us, and eventually, we started sketching.

Why Ace’s Flame?

There’s something about Ace that has always stayed with us.

His fire wasn't just about being powerful. It felt warm, reckless, protective, and full of life. It was part of the way he moved through the world — with his own sense of freedom, while caring deeply about the people around him.

We wanted to capture that feeling without trying to recreate Ace himself.

So we focused on the one thing that felt unmistakably his:

the flame.

We imagined what it might look like wrapped around a finger — not perfectly symmetrical, not completely still, but almost as if the fire were caught in motion.

That became the starting point for the ring.

Why Make It Ourselves?

We could have made a simple flame-shaped ring.

But that felt too easy.

For us, the fun is in taking an idea from a story we love and figuring out how to turn it into something real.

We wanted to build the shape ourselves, play with the curves of the flame, adjust the proportions, and keep refining the details until it felt right.

There was no need for it to look like something that came straight off a screen.

In fact, we liked the idea that it wouldn't.

It's our interpretation of Ace's flame — something inspired by the story, but made to exist in our world.

That's what we love about making things by hand.

You start with a feeling.

Then a sketch.

Then a material.

And little by little, something that only existed in your imagination becomes something you can actually hold.

More Than an Anime Ring

The finished ring is bold. The flame wraps around the finger and becomes the entire point of the piece.

But the meaning behind it is quieter.

You might see a flame.

We see Ace.

We see freedom.
We see loyalty.
We see the people worth protecting.
We see a character who left a mark long after his story ended.

And that's really why we made it.

Not because we needed another piece of One Piece merchandise.

But because sometimes, a story means enough to you that you want to make something from it.

Something small.

Something you can wear.

Something that reminds you why you loved the character in the first place.

Keep the Fire

Every handmade piece has a little bit of the person who made it in it.

This one started with our love for Ace and the feeling his character left behind.

We took that feeling, turned it into an idea, and kept working on it until it became a ring.

Maybe that's what DIY means to us.

Taking inspiration from something you love and making it your own.

Ace's story may have ended.

But some fires are worth carrying with you.
